Seems pretty high to me after buying EZD, crossgrading to SD3.I’ve already sank nearly $500 into Toontrack and wish there were some kind of discount for those who sank that kind of money into it.

If you did that and it still isn't working, make sure the file that is labeled Application Extension (.dll) is in the same folder as superior drummer where ever you saved it.

The stock kits are all great, but I have a love for Tama Starclassic kits and if I remember right, it was almost $200 for that expansion pack. You have to make sure that under Options -> Locations, that the folder that has superior drummer (or any instrument plug-in) is under VST's, and external instrument.

other free plugins similar in style would be suppatrigga and livecut, both from smartelectronix. it is also semi-random in operation, so most efficient approach would be to render/record some of its output and then edit it to taste. Ardour always only recognizes outputs 1 and 2 in the routing matrix. dblues glitch is an effect plugin and should be applied on a drum bus. The real art of creating sampled drum tracks with.
Making superior drummer 2 how to#
the Superior Drummer plugin is capable of having multiple outputs, but I can’t seem to be able to figure out how to get Ardour to recognize this. But the great drum sounds in SD2 are only a part of what you need to do to make great sounding drum parts. The expansion packs are pretty expensive, which is a bummer. Hello everybody, I recently purchased Superior Drummer 2.0, and I’m trying to use it on a track (well, multiple tracks actually) in Ardour. The ability to shape and change features of the drum sounds so. The EZD kits all sound good and you can still set it up so each drum goes to it’s own track in the DAW where you can add your own plug-ins, but you’re basically tweaking something that’s already tweaked.Īlso, you have the option to stack drums in SD3, so if you’re not getting enough meat in your snare, you can combine two snares within the VST and hopefully get what you’re looking for. Superior Drummer 2.0 features an ultra powerful sample engine and ridiculous sound quality. It depends on how far down the rabbit hole of drum sounds you want to go. In SD3, you have the option of shutting off all the EQ/compression/reverb and using the raw drum sounds. Ultimately, I just wanted more control over the drum sounds, which you couldn’t get with EZD. I used EZD2 for 3-4 years before upgrading to SD3.
